Binary Style x Museum Label
We are super excited to introduce a new collection which is a collaboration between Binary Style and the good people of National Heritage Board. Being history buffs ourselves (Santhi once considered a career as museum curator and both of us joined several seasons of an archeological mission that deals with an ancient Near East civilisation), we are elated to be given such challenge to create a line of co-labelled scarves for this esteemed institution. It has been an enriching experience where we learn more about Singapore history and we feel privileged to be able to work alongside the passionate curators of National Heritage Board museums.
Together, we have selected a number of artefacts from the National Collection which are being showcased in National Museum of Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum, Malay Heritage Centre, Indian Heritage Centre and The Peranakan Museum to be the source of our design inspirations. We feature among others exquisite Peranakan needlework patterns, Chinese blue and white ceramics, model boats from the Malay Heritage Centre and various museum buildings in this collection.
We hope you like this collection as much as we do
