When we first launched Binary Style in 2015, our mission was simple: to create beautiful scarves that celebrate the stories and colours of Singapore. Over time, we discovered that our designs could live far beyond the silk they were first printed on. That realisation opened a whole new world of possibilities — and, with the support of many incredible partners, we’ve been exploring them with boundless curiosity ever since.
Our patterns have leapt from fabric to light, filling the interior of the National Design Centre with a dynamic projection mapping installation during the Singapore Night Festival 2022 in collaboration with the Singapore Design Council. Our playful otters and the charming architecture of Bras Basah Bugis danced across the illuminated courtyard of the NDC building — the very place where our first studio was once housed.
That same month, our love for Singapore’s biodiversity scaled up dramatically with Kembali, a 9x18-metre banner draped across the back façade of the National Design Centre for SG57 — a lush, thriving celebration of the island’s flora and fauna.
In 2025, our work found new life at the i Light Festival, where our illustrations transformed the Bridge of 1000 Dreams into a glowing tapestry of dreams in collaboration with Studio Toer NL and Pico. Together with 1,000 participants, we transferred our patterns onto bamboo sticks that lit up the historic Cavenagh Bridge.
And most unexpectedly, our art recently lit up the towering screen of the New York Stock Exchange. In collaboration with NOVA by Smobler for Singapore’s SG60 celebrations, our designs shone on one of the world’s most iconic financial landmarks, carrying Singapore’s creative spirit to a global audience.
From scarves to screens to bridges and buildings, our work adapts to any scale and medium. This is only the beginning — and we can’t wait for what comes next.
