When Women Support Each Other, Incredible Things Happen

Posted by on

Many business owners would agree that running a business is full of challenges. That is why it is very important to be surrounded with positive and supportive people who are willing to share their knowledge or experience. As women, the journey is often even more challenging, we don’t have the luxury of having long stretch of time to create or to focus only on your business (as rightly pointed out by this Guardian article). For that matter, we are very fortunate to found CRIB- a social enterprise that empowers women to become successful entrepreneurs through networking opportunities, business matching, and professional development.

Binary Style was recently selected to participate in #CRIBCONNECTS. It is a unique opportunity for CRIB Fashion and Kids businesses to meet a specially chosen group of leading social media influencers with an aggregate following of over 450,000 followers. This program was specifically created by CRIB to provide authentic connections and exciting experiences for our members while making a lasting impact.

We had a wonderful time sharing with the social media influencers about our brand story and new collection. We appreciated their support and their valuable feedback. We hope we can cultivate a meaningful partnership with them after this event. Finally, we had a lovely time getting to know fellow CRIB members personally and to learn the story behind their brands.  It was a camaraderie filled afternoon well spent among supportive women business owners many of whom face the same challenges and concerns. Running a business can be a lonely journey but we know now that we don’t have to do it alone.

Heartfelt thank you to Tjin Lee, Charmaine Seah-Ong, Melissa C. Koh, Ginette Chittick, Jaime Lee, Yi Lian, Nellie Lim and Savina Chai for championing women-led local brands. And huge thank you to Perng Aw and her Crib team. Also we would like to express our gratitude to Dr Elaine Kim, co-founder of Trehaus for hosting us at their new beautiful Funan venue.
