 To appreciate sweetness, one must have tasted bitterness. Bittergourd, karela, a misunderstood fruit,  wrongly termed as a vegetable . Fleshy, ridged,  warty and elliptical amidst swirly tendrils, delicate lobed leaves. Yet such a comfort food for many, versatile, reminding us that with bitter, comes sweet.
