Peranakan Opulence Re-Thread Scarf
Peranakan culture is one of the heterogeneous identities of Singapore, this crossroads on the trade routes of diverse peoples and nations. Roaming around the Peranakan enclaves, one can still find the manifestations of the culture and opulence at its charming best. This design features the iconic Koon Seng road shophouses with their intricately ornate facades and colourful Peranakan tiles that often bore motifs of fruits, flowers and birds that were considered auspicious in Chinese culture such as the peacock- Phoenix’s earthly representation.
Fabric info:
We are proud to introduce Re-Thread Collection, a line of scarf that is made by reviving post-consumer plastic bottles and turn it into silky soft fabric.
Some of our most favorite designs are now available in this kinder-to-earth fabric. Our Re-thread scarves are made from 100% recycled PET and made in a facility that meets Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification.
This twill-woven fabric is exceptionally soft, durable, and offers vibrant colors with a silky finish. It has a smooth hand-feel, is highly comfortable and cool on the skin, and it resists creasing while being easy to maintain. Quick-drying and airy, it’s perfect for Singapore’s balmy weather.
